About me

THE IMPORTANT BIT!

Lots of information below which can seem daunting! The most important thing to say to you is that I'm experienced in helping people to feel better.
Of course you want to be reassured by qualifications, but, above that, you're most likely looking for someone who makes you feel at ease enough to contact them - someone you feel you can talk to.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

I am a fully qualified professional counsellor and an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.

I trained as an integrative counsellor which means that I offer a variety of approaches based on what works for you: a non-judgmental, empathic ear, unflinching support to explore difficult experiences and trauma, or perhaps the opportunity to work on new ways of thinking and dealing with negative behaviour patterns.

MY APPROACH:

Fundamentally, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. I offer tailored support, understanding, reflection and gentle challenge so that you are empowered to find your own path forward. Clients receive a warm, friendly welcome, acceptance and confidentiality.

MY BACKGROUND:

My background is in education (BA Hons, PGCE)
having taught in secondary and primary schools for 30 years.
I have offered counselling at Lighthouse 43 in Cheriton and at New Romney Counselling Service.

I have an enhanced DBS check and I am fully insured.

THE PRACTICAL DETAILS:

I am able to offer counselling in person or online.
I offer a free introductory telephone session so that you can decide if I am the right fit for you.
